Arcvale (2024-)
Sound Director
Audio implementation in the Unity game engine: By utilizing C# sound scripts, I was able to control how background music is handled in Unity projects.
Audio mixing: I made a more immersive experience by manipulating reverb and equalizer plugins to adjust sounds to better fit in-game environments.
Not long after I joined, I was shown old sound scripts made by my predecessor, who had left the team. I was given the task of modifying these scripts so that when the type of world was selected for a 2D platformer level, the music would change depending on the type of the world. This was used to manage the music for 25 different world types.
CMYK Laboratories (2014-)
Lead Developer
Recording Technician: By utilizing C# sound scripts, I was able to control how background music is handled in Unity projects.
Sound database management: Organizing hundreds our even thousands of audio files so they can be properly read and navigated through was a large part of my job.
My main job has been to make singing databases for vocal synthesizers. With this, I had to provide optimal recording conditions with the proper equipment, place files in a hierarchy that was easy for the software to navigate, configure files full of phonetic data using proprietary formats, and troubleshoot my own issues. Over the years, I have released over 45 databases, while having worked on over 60 total.
Recently, I gave a one hour workshop about how I develop vocal synthesis databases for 15 of my colleagues at Arcvale, and I have been invited to present said workshop two more times, each to crowds of up to 40 people.
